About the role
The Compliance, Safety and Operations Training Advisor reports directly to the U/G Superintendent and is required to ensure that all Underground mining conditions and installations comply with Regulatory, and NPO mining statutory requirements and standards along with all underground operations and support staff are compliant with training requirements and competencies to deliver a safe operating culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure overall statutory and regulatory compliance for the Mining Department
- Assist supervisors to ensure that underground refuge chambers, ventilation and environmental conditions comply to Regulatory standards and requirements.
- Review and update training work instructions and procedures to ensure they remain current
- Assist in training Supervisors to conduct incident investigations and infield verification checks. Ensure all statutory training and certification is current, and any shortfalls have an action plan
- Use the site training record system to track and report on individual and departmental training records, including those of renewal training. Have the training records on display and updated.
- Actively promoting the development of the site safety culture.
About you
- Youre a detail-oriented, proactive individual with the passion a to assist teams with their learning and safety compliance.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide suggestions to improve work instructions, training material and code of conduct.
- Proven experience in a safety and compliance role.
- Well-developed written and verbal skills along with the ability to influence and build relationships.
- Demonstrated understanding of the mining industry with site-based experience is highly desirable
- Cert III mining related qualifications and/or Cert IV Training & Assessment
